This very rare plant
can be grown as a scrambling shrub or a woody
vine. The narrow leaves are in whorls of
three, a shiny green above, dull and paler
below. The flowers are borne in clusters at
the ends of branches, pale yellow, russet
brown towards the base. The fruit which is
only borne in sunny summers is a long two
horned pod. The seeds are very poisonous and
are used in heart medicine but if you grow
foxgloves, there's no reason not to grow
this, unless you're going to dip your arrows
in a decoction!
