This huge leafed plant is a very dramatic statement in a large garden. In a small one, it will devour it! It seems to do best in deep, permanently moist, rich soil. In winter, we cut a few of the leaves and bend them over the crown to protect it from frost. Borderline fully hardy so don't risk not protecting it in this way. It's also fascinating to watch it grow. One day there's nothing to see and the next it's zooming skywards.
